Product Description
The journey continues, starting in Crete and ending in the Hellenistic Age, ushered in by Alexander the Great. Students learn about the development of democracy, the primordial defense of democracy in the Persian wars, the heyday of Athens (also known as the Golden Age), and that sad self-destruction known as the Peloponnesian Wars. But it is not history alone—culture, values, and life lessons are taught.

Would this be a semenster-long course or year-long?

Hello! The Book of the Ancient Greeks takes roughly one semester to study, as scheduled out in our lesson plans. We usually study The Book of the Ancient Greeks alongside The Iliad and The Odyssey in 8th Grade. You can find lesson plans for this here – https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/individual-lesson-plans-subject/ – under “Classical Studies” then “Ancient Greeks and Homer Lesson Plans.” Please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else!
